decades.

A family business that began in Brooklyn in the back of a station wagon and grew into one of the leading online retailers of licensed team product. Today, the Ovadia family still operates the company with the same instincts for what moves.

Mr. Moshe Ovadia grew up in a working-class family in Jerusalem, one of six children in a household held together by a father who worked two jobs. Sport was his escape — football most of all. In the 1970s he played for Beitar Jerusalem Football Club, and discovered his lifelong passion for the game, and for sport itself.

Modest Beginnings

Mr. Ovadia immigrated to New York in the early 1980s. In 1986, he started Ovadia Sporting Goods out of the back of a station wagon — going store to store selling children's clothing and building relationships in the industry. He worked tirelessly to support his family and built his reputation on honesty and integrity. A chance meeting led to connections in the team product world that would define the company for decades.

Next Generation

In the 1990s, Mr. Ovadia's children joined the family business. They learned from the ground up — working in the warehouse, making deliveries, and then moving into product development and sales. They brought new energy, modernized operations, and helped scale the company beyond its early roots. Mr. Ovadia laid the foundation; the children built the next chapter.

Modern Day

In the early 2000s, the company recognized that the future was online. They pivoted and were one of the first companies to offer team product on marketplaces. What started as a small e-commerce experiment grew into the core of the business, and Ovadia became one of the leading retailers of licensed team product in the country.
